  • Vortxz, ORION 224 & Eucalyption Breakout Thursday at Warehouse Live Midtown (1/4/24)

This past Thursday night roughly more than a few hundred people gathered together in the newly renovated Warehouse Live Midtown, formally known as Rise Rooftop, for the next wave of Houston Music Legends. Kicking off the show Eucalyption set the tone for the night with the groovy bass lines, snappy riffs, and trickling synths. This brother duo gave the crowd an energetic warm up for what would be the next set, ORION 224, a band that has been growing up in front of the Houston scene eyes. Playing show after show all summer long with bands like Pinkie Promise, El Jumbortron, The Backroom Rumors & many more of the infamous local artists. The band played a handful of songs from all of their catalog including their much anticipated single “Take My Hand”. With The bands fast pace, bright smiles that ignites flames, these young men showcased why they are here to stay. This band will be an incredible sight to see with what they will be delivering later in the year. The main headlining act of the night was Vortxz, one of the fastest growing groups from the city recently for every right reason. The band consists of Singer Isaias “Rambo”, lead guitarist Noe Rodriguez , bassist Luar Quintanilla and Jonahan on the drums! The four piece brought on two extra members for the live performance of a lifetime. An absorbent crowd, got a taste of all the hits from opening to “Reality” and closing with “My Love”. Going up and down all night with help from Rambo's dance moves and participation in the front. The band debuted two new future collaborations with the newest track being a single with friends Eucalyption. The new single by the band is called “Me and You”, and is out now on all platforms. Keeping all eyes on what was next for the band, January 26th they will be in San Antonio and if you are here in Houston, Vortxz will be opening for California Spanish Rock legends, Enjambre, at Scout Bar on February 18th for a show that you will not want to miss! • Wayside Drive And Their Debut EP "You're Only Getting Older"

Written By Wes Nov 15, 2023 Artwork done by the band themselves Falling into the new season, Houston's very own Wayside Drive released their first Extended Play titled "You're Only Getting Older". The project released on November 10th 2023 coming in with 5 new tracks following the previously released single "Adult Responsibilities". Photographed By Lexi (@lexs_fotography) The current lineup of the group consists of Drummer Noah, Bassist Emmanuel, Rhythm Guitarist Juan, Lead Chase Z and their vocalist Johnny. All summer long the boys have been shredding through the town planting these new tracks in the veins of the local Houston scene. From shows at the Embassy Outpost on the famous street, wayside drive, to residents backyards all over the compass of the city, this band has proven to the community that this is just the start of a generation. Wayside Drive Photographed by Xavier G (@xavur.jpg) during a Houston Halloween House Party Spanning 14 minutes and 55 seconds full of beautiful chaos, a power pull of all punk years and a whole lot of originality. Daunting "Brent Coggins?" is the groups opening track to this project with the guys wasting no time in hammering the nail to the wall saying "we're here to stay". Songs like the Tittle track "Y.O.G.O" continues the message with an already classic riff that has been in progress for many days. Listeners find the momentum heading in to "GO!!!!" and "Long Week***" The project has it all from riffs, contagious energy, anthem hooks, bittersweet nostalgia and everything in between. Poster By Band, Remixed By Wes This Saturday at 6pm on November 18th, The Band will be playing these new songs for you and friends live at 1810 Ojeeman. Tickets are $10 at door with music starting at 7pm. Special guests for this special celebration include Our Eyes Go Blank Tonight, It Just Doesn't Matter, Kim Jung Uno, Noogy and EL. See you there?
